A Lockheed Model 10A Electra that once belonged to Czechoslovak shoe mogul Jan Antonín Baťa landed in Prague on 28 May 2015 after an eight-day flight from North America. Purchased six years ago by the owner of a Czech Republic Internet provider, the Electra was restored at Wichita Air Service in Newton, Kansas. Built in 1937, this aircraft was supplied to the Bata Company as a replacement for another Electra that was damaged during an emergency landing in Chicago during Baťa's flight around the world. In 1939, two days before Nazi Germany occupied Czechoslovakia, Baťa flew the aircraft out of the country. It was flown by the British government and the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, after which it had several owners. The aircraft (company number 1068; civil registered OK-CTB) is now part of a private collection at Točná Airfield and will be partly accessible to the public.
