An element of F-35A Lightning IIs is flown over Nellis AFB, Nevada, prior to landing at the base outside Las Vegas on 6 March 2013. The aircraft will be assigned to the 422nd Test And Evaluation Squadron will be used for development test support, force development evaluation, and to support operational testing at Edwards AFB, California. Current plans call for twelve F-35As to be assigned to the 422nd TES along twenty-four aircraft for the Air Force Weapons School, also at Nellis.
