The 250th C-130J Super Hercules built was delivered to Dyess AFB, Texas, on 16 February 2012. The aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-5684) was flown from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to the base near Abilene. This Super Hercules is the fifteenth C-130J to be delivered to the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess since 2010. It will be flown by the 40th Airlift Squadron. Dyess will receive nine more C-130Js this year and will be home to the largest C-130J fleet in the world when it receives its twenty-eighth Super Hercules aircraft in 2013.
