The first C-130J for the 39th Airlift Squadron at Dyess AFB, Texas, was delivered on 9 February 2012. Maj. Gen. Rick Martin, director of operations for Air Mobility Command flew the aircraft from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to its new home. The aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-5685) is the fourteenth of twenty-eight C-130Js that will be assigned to Dyess. The C-130Js delivered previously to the base near Abilene are flown by crews from the 40th AS.
