A deployed US Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilot assigned to the 177th Fighter Wing, the New Jersey Air National Guard unit based at Atlantic City, takes off from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, on 21 December 2011 armed with four GBU-38 500-pound Joint Direct Attack Munitions and two AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. The US National Guard celebrated the 375th anniversary of its founding on 13 December.
