The 94th Airlift Wing, the Air Force Reserve Command C-130H unit at Dobbins ARB, Georgia, changed the major command it reports to on 1 October 2011. For the past ten years, the wing has been a part of Air Education and Training Command with a primary mission to train active duty, Guard and Reserve component aircrews in the C-130 tactical mission. The wing will now report to Air Mobility Command and its aircraft will now be aligned in the Air Expeditionary Force rotation along with personnel required to fly and maintain the aircraft while deployed. The transition from AETC to AMC will mostly impact the operations and maintenance groups, and to a lesser extent, mission support group units.
