The Coast Guard is passing seven HC-130H Hercules transports to the US Forest Service and curtailing its buy of HC-177 aircraft in exchange for the C-27Js. The Coast Guard will use the C-27Js for maritime patrol, drug interdiction, disaster response, and search and rescue missions.
