New Cats At Tyndall

Posted 5 February 2014

US Air Force Reserve Command’s 44th Fighter Group began its move from Holloman AFB, New Mexico, to Tyndall AFB, Florida. Pilots from the group’s 301st Fighter Squadron flew five F-22 Raptors to Tyndall on 5 February 2014. The 301st FS is one of four squadrons which that trace their heritage to the Tuskegee Airmen. The 301st FS will be integrated with an active-duty sister unit, the 95th Fighter Squadron, assigned to Tyndall's 325th Fighter Wing. The transition is a part of the Total Force Integration concept, combining active duty and Reserve units. Twenty-four F-22s will be transferred from Holloman to Eglin and the move is expected to be complete by April 2014.
