US Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, received its ninth rewinged P-3 Orion at the Lockheed Martin facility in Greenville, South Carolina, on 6 November 2013. The aircraft, called a Long Ranger Tracker, was modified in nine months and was redelivered ninety-four days early. A total of fourteen CPB P-3s will go through the Mid-Life Upgrade, or MLU, modifications and phased depot maintenance. The MLU upgrade removes current aircraft flight restrictions and extends the structural service life of the P-3 up to 15,000 hours, adding more than twenty years of operational use. CBP aircraft, used primarily for illegal drug interdiction, are stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas, and at Jacksonville, Florida.
