Robert J. Stevens, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation, received the Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy, presented annually by the National Aeronautic Association since 1948 to a living American for significant public service of enduring value to aviation in the United States, in ceremonies in Washington, DC, on 14 December 2012. Stevens, a former Marine who once worked as a line mechanic building A-10 attack aircraft, has led Lockheed Martin since 2004. He was cited for his leadership in the introduction or development of the F-22, C-130J, C-5M, and F-35, along with civilian programs like the FAA's En Route Automation Modernization effort.
