The 43rd Fighter Squadron at Tyndall AFB, Florida, resumed normal flight operations on 19 November 2012 as the 325th Fighter Wing commander, Col. David Graff, flew a morning mission. A total of eight F-22 pilots completed training missions in the morning and six others flew in the afternoon. Raptor operations at Tyndall had been suspended since the crash and destruction of an F-22 (Air Force serial number 00-4013) near the base’s drone runway on 15 November. The pilot safely ejected and was uninjured. The Air Force’s accident investigation board, composed of specially trained members from different military installations, arrived at the base near Panama City the weekend of 18 November and took charge of the investigation.
