The Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, announced on 1 November that it had rated the HC-130J Combat King II personnel recovery aircraft and the MC-130J Commando II special operations tanker as Effective, Suitable, and Mission Capable after Initial Operational Test and Evaluation trials were completed in October. Lockheed Martin is currently on contract for fifteen HC-130Js for Air Combat Command and twenty-seven MC 130Js for Air Force Special Operations Command. The Air Force has plans to procure thirty-seven HC-130Js and eighty-five MC-130Js.
