Members of the 187th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, a Wyoming Air National Guard unit based at Cheyenne, traveled to Bizerte, Tunisia, 22-24 May 2012 to participate in Medlite 2012, a Tunisian aeromedical mass casualty evacuation exercise. Tunisia does not have a civilian medical life flight system like in the US and the military medical corps is the only option. The Wyoming National Guard and Tunisia have been partners in the National Guard Bureau's State Partnership Program since 2004. Wyoming Guard personnel have participated in a number of exercises in Tunisia since the partnership began. The three-day Medlite exercise consisted of lectures, round table discussions of mass casualty scenarios, and an exercise using a Tunisian Air Force C-130H.
