Two US Air Force pararescue jumpers, SSgt. Dan Warren, an Air Force Reservist from the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick AFB, Florida, who was in Alaska for training, and Air National Guardsman TSgt. Jeremy Maddamma, from JB Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, made a daring night parachute jump from an HC-130P King personnel recovery tanker during a blizzard on 2 February 2012 to provide medical care to a twenty-year old Native American in the remote mining town of Red Devil, Alaska, suffering from a life-threatening infection. After an HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter crew had to turn back, Warren and Maddamma jumped into Red Devil with supplies. The PJs were able to stabilize the patient, who was airlifted to Anchorage the next day.
