Airmen at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, participated in a Phase One Operational Readiness Exercise, or ORE, from 27-29 February 2011. The exercise tested the 49th Wing’s ability to prepare and mobilize from peacetime to wartime operations at a moment's notice. The ORE culminated in the launching of fifteen F-22 Raptors at one time, a record number for Holloman. During the exercise, Holloman Airmen participated in various deployment taskings. Further testing wing personnel, the base's external threat levels varied throughout the ORE, requiring adjustments to the local force protection conditions. ORE evaluators examined command and control operations; deployment processing; aircraft generation, deployment, and regeneration; information operations; and other force protection areas.
