The latest F-22 Raptor (Air Force serial number 09-4188) was ferried from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada, on 2 February 2012. This Raptor will be flown by the 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, which flies operational test and evaluation for all US Air Force aircraft assigned to Air Combat Command. Testing and evaluation includes the aircraft, engines, software, and weapons upgrades prior to release of the aircraft or modification to the operational F-22 squadrons.
