An F-111E Aardvark aircraft rolled through the gates at Shaw AFB, South Carolina, on 2 February 2012. The F-111 will go on static display in the base’s heritage park alongside several aircraft that have been part of the 20th Fighter Wing's history through the years. This particular F-111 had been assigned to the 20th FW when the unit was based at RAF Upper Heyford, England. The airframe, which had been in long-term storage at the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, arrived at Shaw on two separate trucks. It will take approximately four months to reassemble the aircraft.
