A transportable port security boat assigned to US Coast Guard Port Security Unit 308 is loaded on to a C-5B Galaxy transport at Stennis International Airport near Bay St. Louis, Louisiana, on 27 January 2012. Four Coast Guard Port Security Units were deployed to support Operation Bold Alligator 2012, the largest amphibious assault exercise in a decade. Bold Alligator 2012, which ran from 30 January through 12 February, was is a live, scenario-driven simulation held off the coasts of Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida and was designed to revitalize Navy and Marine Corps amphibious expeditionary capabilities. Eight countries joined US forces in the exercise.
