The 2,400th C-130 built was delivered to US Air Force Special Operations Command on 30 January 2012. The milestone aircraft, an MC-130J Combat Shadow II special operations airlifter/tanker, will be flown by the 522nd Special Operations Squadron at Cannon AFB, New Mexico. The delivery of this aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-6201) follows a record year for C-130J production at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia. In 2011, thirty-three C-130J Super Hercules transports were delivered, which marked a new production record for the C-130J. Aircraft were delivered in six different configurations for six operators. The C-130 production line in Marietta is the longest continuously operating military aircraft production line in history.
