Hundreds of personnel from local law enforcement agencies joined members of the Australian Defence Force at RAAF Richmond for the second annual Law Enforcement Torch Run on 24 September 2011. Sixteen teams of twenty people each had three turns to pull an empty C-130J Super Hercules over a distance of 10 meters in the fastest time possible. The New South Wales Police Public Order and Riot Squad won for the second year running with a time of 12.28 seconds. The RAAF Richmond team placed second with a finals time of 13.08 seconds. More than $15,000 was raised for Special Olympics, which seeks to give intellectually disabled children and adults an opportunity to compete in athletic events.
