The first C-130J Super Hercules was delivered to Tunisia in ceremonies at the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, on 4 April 2013. Under a contract signed in 2010, Tunisia will receive two long fuselage C-130Js, training, and three years of initial logistics support. The second aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2014. The Tunisian Air Force currently operates a fleet of C-130Hs purchased in the mid-1980s as well as C-130Bs pulled from US stocks. The new C-130Js will support a variety of Tunisian Air Force operations, including relief efforts around the world, firefighting, and traditional airlift sorties. Tunisia is the first country on the African continent to operate the C-130J.
