The eighth of eleven MC-130Js that will be assigned to the 522nd Special Operations Squadron at Cannon AFB, New Mexico, was delivered on 7 August 2012. The aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-6204) is used on missions such as inflight refueling, infiltration/exfiltration, and aerial delivery and resupply of Special Operations forces. Maj. Gen. Robert C. Kane, the director of Global Reach Programs Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Headquarters US Air Force in Washington, flew the aircraft from the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, to Cannon.
