A US Air Force C-130J Super Hercules from the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein AB, Germany, is flown flies over Picauville, France, during the 67th Anniversary of D-Day remembrance ceremony, held on 3 June 2011. Every year since the liberation of Normandy on 6 June 1944, US forces, along with those of allied nations, come together to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the invasion of France. This year's ceremony was attended by dozens of American World War II veterans. Veterans of World War II are dying at the rate of approximately 1,000 per day.
